Mission
Shift Accounting’s goal is to provide people with the support and resources they need in order to write their own financial stories.
The system of capitalism was created to elevate the few at the expense of many, and has continued to succeed in this mission since its inception. The U.S tax code is part of this system and is written to perpetuate class inequity. It does so in part by confusing, isolating and intimidating taxpayers.
Shift’s response is to provide tax preparation, consulting and workshops to promote empowerment, confidence, and a better connection with all things money-related.
Shift advocates that class-privileged folk become more responsive by utilizing their resources and access to uplift and open doors for others. For class-marginalized communities, Shift intends to help contextualize financial struggles in an effort to move forward in reclaiming economic power.
